Membership Representative

Position Summary:

Delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. Responds to member and guest needs, promotes memberships and programs, and maintains cleanliness and organization of the lobby area.

Essential Functions:

1. Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the branch and on the phone, contributing to member retention.

2. Interviews and/or tours prospective members; sells memberships.

3. Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and to the YMCA.

4. Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.

5. Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services.

6. May hand out locker keys and towels; may monitor the locker rooms as required.

Qualifications:

1. Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED, and First Aid.

2. Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

3. Ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds.

4. Previous customer service, sales or related experience.

5. Basic knowledge of computers.

Starting Pay:

$11/hour

Aqua Aerobics Instructor

 

Position Summary:

Designs and delivers safe and engaging aqua aerobics classes to YMCA members.

Essential Functions:

 

  1. You lead energizing, fun, safe, and educational group classes.

  2. You answer questions from participants to support them in achieving their health and well-being goals.

  3. You maintain a working knowledge of wellness and trends in the fitness industry.

  4. You build effective, authentic relationships with members, connecting members with each other and the YMCA.

  5. You observe and adjust your approach to support all participants' capabilities, physical conditions, health, and culture.

  6. You celebrate the achievement of program participants related to program or personal goals.

  7. You follow YMCA policies and procedures.

  8. You respond to emergencies.

  2. Must be able to demonstrate group exercise instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards.

  3. Group Exercise Instructor certification, or equivalent.

  4. At least 16 years of age.

Physical Demands:

 

Ability to instruct and observe participants in proper techniques.

Ability to lift equipment.

 

Starting Pay:

$17/class

Yoga Instructor
